Today I woke up in my house in the Estado de Mexico, at 4:30 am; I didn’t sleep very well because I was sleepless tonight and could fall asleep just at 3:30 am, and only slept 1 hr.
I went to my faculty early, approximately at 5:20 am, and I arrived there at 7:35 am, 25 minutes before my first class, something very appropriate because it is supposed that I have the opportunity of just 3 delays, and I think I haven’t gone three times to that class!
The name of my first class is Analytical Mechanics, it’s very interesting because in that class we learn mechanics from a new point of view, we begin to work in more abstract spaces, and we don’t use second Newton’s law, instead, we use two different formulations, the Lagrange`s formulation and the Hamilton’s formulation, and many times is easier to solve some problems although at the beginning is difficult to understand that point of view. Today we began to work with
My next class in the day was Introduction to Quantum Physics, and my teacher began to teach us the duality between particles and waves, it is very interesting but at the middle of my class I began to fell asleep, it was horrible because I couldn’t do anything to wake up, and I was sat in front of the teacher.
My Introduction to Quantum physics class finished, and before going to my English class I found a friend and I was talking with her like thirty minutes, then, her boyfriend arrived (he is French), and we talk about their vacations in Oaxaca.
After that thirty minutes I went to my English class, I arrived at 2:35, and I found to Claudia in front of the classroom, we could talk just some minutes because our teacher arrived soon. At the beginning of my English class I was very awake, but with the time I began to fell asleep again, fortunately that lasted just one hour, my fiend Aaraon recommended me going to home, and I did it, but first I went to my Faculty to give back a book in the library, I found a friend, and we went together to home.
I arrived at 9:00 pm at home before sleeping I’m doing this homework, my English teacher gave us the opportunity to give him this until next Friday.
Tuesday 14th, 2009.
Today I woke up at 9:00 am, I took breakfast and I did some homework, I studied something about Complex Analysis, and at 6:00 pm I went to my faculty (Tuesday I usually have just two classes, one of them at 10: 00 am and the other one at 7:00 pm, but I had just the second class, my class of 10:00 pm is Electromagnetism, but our teacher told us that we won’t have class on Tuesday, that’s why I went to school until 7:00 pm. My Complex Analysis class was interesting; we saw a theorem about the complex integral around a closed curve, my teacher gave us a proof of that theorem and used something that he hasn’t shown, and that in real variable isn’t true some times.
After that class I went to home, and slept at 11:00 pm after having explained something to my brother (who is studying high school).
Wednesday 15th, 2009.
Today, as every Wednesday and Friday, I woke up at 6:00 am, took a bath and went to school. My first class, as every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, was Analytic Mechanics, the teacher told us something nice, he told us that everything that we have learned (about Hamiltonian Mechanics) and everything that we will learn goes beyond the knowledge of every engineer, and that if any of them come to class, he probably wouldn’t understand anything, and would go out walking on the walls, that made me feel special and happy because that means that this is the point where my career becomes more specialized and where the real career of a physicist begins.
After my Analytical Mechanics class I had my Electromagnetism class, we are learning something about electric circuits, but honestly that topic bores me, and I wish we could finish soon. I would like that we could review the Maxwell’s equations deeply, because from my point of view this is the heart of the Electromagnetism class.
In my class of Introduction to Quantum Mechanics we continued reviewing the duality wave – particle, and found that thanks to De Broglie’s intuition, many scientists made experiments where they could proof experimentally the De Broglie’s hypothesis about the wave nature of the electron, I love this topic.
In my English class our teacher made us an exam and gave us the Friday to finish this journal activity. The exam was some kind of lecture comprehension, where we needed to fill some spaces with the correct paragraph of an article in a newspaper.
Finally, at 7:00 pm I had my Complex Analysis class, we reviewed something about vector fields, and their relationships with Complex Analysis and complex numbers.
I arrived at home at 9:00 pm, I talked with my mother and father about my day, we took dinner, and I went to bed at 12:00 am approximately.
Thursday 16th, 2009.
I woke up at 8:00 am, took a bath and took breakfast, then I prepared a class of basic Algebra for someone who I would give class today, he phoned me yesterday, and told me that he needed Calculus classes for an exam, so, I prepared an Algebra class because I have seen that a lot of people has Calculus problems because they haven’t good knowledge and domain of Algebra. At 2:00 pm I saw that person and gave my class, everything was ok, without any problem, and the class finished at 4:00 pm approximately. Then I studied something about Analytical Mechanics and at 6:00pm I went to my school to take my complex Analysis class. We continued reviewing something about the Cauchy’s theorem, and the class finished quickly. I arrived at home at 8:00 pm, and took dinner, then I studied something about the De Broglie’s postulates, and finally I went to bed at 12:00am.
Friday 17th, 2009.
I woke up at 8:00 am, I was strangely tired, I took breakfast and went to my faculty, I took my Electromagnetism class, and I met the teacher that will give us the Magnetism part of the course, he continued teaching something about electric circuits with voltage sources and resistances, and we began to study the RC circuit.
In my Introduction to Quantum Physics class our teacher explained us how the wave equation must be modified to fit the results of electron’s diffraction experiments. We saw that the classical wave equation won’t work, and we will review the real wave equation for an electron next class.
My class finished, and I went to home, I fall asleep, and I woke up at 5:00 pm, I ate something and I went back to my faculty to give back some book in the library. Then I went to the computers room in my school and I began to do this activity, but I didn’t finished, I couldn’t finish in home because my computer has a problem temporarily, and I could finish this homework finally on Sunday 19th, 2009.

I'm a regular guy. I'm funny, sincere and I like to spend time with people. My problem is that I'm very shy, and I have trouble trying to meet new people. I don't know how to start to talk with someone I'm interested to know, nor how to get closer to that person; I think that this is the most difficult step.
For example, I met a woman in a class and I think she is very smart, interesting and funny. I have talked with her just once but I think she is a person who is worth knowing.
What do you recommend me? I think that this problem is affecting my self confidence and my social life.

Project number 2.
I.
Claudia was reading the newspaper that morning. Her reading was about a dangerous killer, he had killed a man last night, brutally was the word that the author of that article had used. She went on to the next page, she didn't imagine what would happen that day.
It was 7:00 am., Claudia took the car keys and went to work. She worked in the local newspaper writing in the fashion section. She had worked in “The World” for one year and she was willing to work in a different section, society or politics, she wasn't quite sure, the only thing that Claudia knew was that she didn't want to work in the fashion area anymore. That day her boss would give her a test that she wouldn't forget in her whole life.
Claudia arrived early, at 7:20 am, more that two hours before the official hour to get there, she loved punctuality and had nothing to do at home, she had been living alone since her arrival to the city and preferred doing something instead of staying at home. She was sociable but had just a few friends because she preferred a promotion over a social life. It was Saturday, many of her colleagues didn't work on Saturday and those who worked that day usually arrived at ten, perhaps later, that place looked very lonely.
She took her glittery black purse and extracted the keys, but she noticed that the door to her office was unlocked. She remembered having closed the door last night, that was really strange and she needed to be careful. She recalled the article that she had read that morning, the murder had been five streets away, she began to get really nervous.
“Calm down”, she said to herself, trying to recover her own control, she was breaking a sweat and her five senses were to explode. Slowly, carefully, with a trembling hand she opened the door, watching everywhere, looking for something strange inside the office, but everything was normal, the door was wide opened, nobody within her office. She began to feel calmed when she felt a hand over her shoulder, she screamed.
“Ha, ha, ha, ha”, she heard, at that moment she turned her face to see who was behind her, and her boss was there with a great smile on his face. “Robert”, she said. “What happened?, you are very nervous!”, he told her with a mocking voice. “Haven't you read about the murderer?, he killed a man near from here”, Claudia said, very angry. “I want to talk you about that man”, he said, recovering a serious tone on his voice, “This is your opportunity”, he continued, “that man was caught three hours ago, and he has been in the police station since then, I need you to make a report about him, I know that you are very smart and you will find a way to make him say something. If you do your job well, I promise I'll give you the job that you want.
Claudia accepted, and after writing some notes, she went directly to the police station. She walked to the police station, she needed to think, she wasn't used to that kind of job and was planning what to say and how to act if something unforeseen would happen.
She arrived, it was early and the morning was still cold, she got in and introduce herself as member of the press. The cops advised her about the danger of being with a man like Bill, but she needed to write about him if he wanted to have a better job.
Finally, she was conducted to a room one level below the street and after going through several little rooms, finally she got there.
Claudia got in, escorted by two cops; Bill was there, behind a wood table, with handcuffs and a big belt that didn't let him move freely. Claudia looked at him, he had very compassionate blue eyes, she didn't know what happened to her, she felt sympathy towards that man, there was something familiar in his appearance.
After seeing him for one minute, she walked in his direction, the cops had left the room, and they were alone in that place. She asked him, “why did you do it?”, but he didn't say anything, he just looked at her eyes. Claudia repeated, “why did you killed that man?”, and then he answered, “I didn't kill him.”
Claudia was upset, she believed him and didn't know why, she didn't know what to do, and then, he said, “help me escape and I'll tell you the whole story”. She found him very familiar and against any logics she found herself unfastening the belt.
Claudia pressed a little red button, and quickly the cops opened the door, one of them was to ask her something, but before he could say anything he looked at her with an fearful look in his eyes, behind that lady was Bill, and quickly he pushed both cops, the cops fell and Bill and Claudia ran towards Claudia's office, nobody knew what was happening and between a lot of confusion they disappeared in just a few seconds.
Bill and Claudia arrived quickly, and Claudia asked him what had happened previous night. Bill told her, “I didn't kill that man, you were the one who killed him”
“You are crazy”, she said, “I don't know who the hell are you!, how am I supposed to have killed him?”
Bill went towards a chest in Claudia's desk, as if he had been in that place before. Bill took a cell phone and showed her three photographs, and there she was, with blood in her hands and a disturbed look in her eyes. Then, as a thunder, she remembered everything, she met Bill a month before, and they had been going out. Tonight she found him with the man, they were arguing, and the unknown man took a gun and tried to kill him. Claudia loved Bill, and she couldn't let that man to hurt him, she took a little knife from her pocket and cut man's neck.
Claudia had a memory problem that manifested itself in dangerous situations, she had talked him about her problem, and being afraid that she could forget him he took that photographs and put the cell phone in Claudia's desk. Several people had seen arguing Bill and that man, and police caught him while he was going back to home.
They needed to go to another state, perhaps another country, but they needed to make that information disappear.
They burned some paper and threw the cell phone into the fire, then they went far from there. They disappeared, now no one would ever know their secret.
Punctuation.
Mechanics: 1.5
I believe that I should have this punctuation in mechanics because I could have skip some grammar and spelling errors.
Language use: 5
In the case of language use, I think that I did it well, but I could have done something better, perhaps including more complex sentences.
Vocabulary: 3
I believe that I can increase my vocabulary, sometimes I had trouble trying to find the best way to express any idea.
Organization: 4
I gave me the best punctuation because I think that my story has a good organization, with a definite beginning, body and end.
Content: 4
I believe that I could express what I wanted, that's why I gave me the best punctuation

Project One
My expectations.
I decided to take this course for one strong reason in particular, although my expectations go beyond the idea of just learning how to write better than now. First of all, I would like to explain the main cause that made me take this course, and then I will explain all the expectations that I have.
I am studying physics, and I think that is well known that scientists publish what they research in specialized magazines, this is the most important motive that I have for taking this writing course. Nevertheless, there are other no less important reasons for studying the writing course; I would like to learn how to avoid all the mistakes that I could have when I have to write my own articles. I think that the nature of these mistakes could be misspelling the words or wrong grammatical structures and a very limited vocabulary, and I would like to put an end to all these mistakes (and perhaps others that I can not imagine yet) to be able to write good scientific articles where I could express the content clearly.
Behind the main expectations that I have written in the last paragraph I expect to learn more vocabulary and make it mine. Although I know that this is not a grammar course (in fact I took the grammar course one year ago) I would like to be able to manage the grammatical mistakes that I could have and I want to learn how to correct them.
Letter to a Canadian
First of all, welcome to Mexico and I wish you have a good time while you are here.
I really don't know if you are a man or a woman nor something about your age, the only thing that I know about you is that you are Canadian. So, I would like to ask you some questions about your country.
I have heard several myths about Canada, one of them is that there are some shopping centers underground, is it true? Another myth that I have heard is that your country is very safe and that Canadians usually don't need to lock the doors of their homes, I think that it could be great if we could do the same in Mexico, but sadly it is difficult do that here because there are bad people on the streets, although I think that the issue of safety in Mexico, as presented the media is an exaggeration although I believe it is necessary to take some precautions not just in Mexico but in every country.
Not everything is bad news in Mexico, we are a kind people and we have nice places with high diversity of nature. We have a lot of archaeological places, too. I would recommend you visit the Teotihuacan, you can see the pyramids of the sun and the moon there. I can recommend you to visit the Zocalo of Mexico city too; it is a place with a lot of history and beautiful buildings.
Hello, my name is Gabriel. I'm 22 years old and I was born in Mexico city on June 23rd, 1986 . I'm studying the sixth semester of the major of physics in the "Faculty of Sciences" at the UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico). I have two passions; these are physics and computers. I like these subjects because they have something in common: both have their logic. I like physics for another reason that not everybody can understand, the study of physics shows us that our world is very mysterious and only studying physics it is possible to realize about that awesome fact. Although I spend almost all my time with physics and computers, I try to read literature. I have enjoyed specially: "One Hundred Years of Solitude" by the Colombian writer Gabriel García Marquez, "The Godfather" by Mario Puzo, "Robinson's School" by Jules Verne and "The Tell-Tale Heart" by Edgar Allan Poe. I'd like to learn how to paint (I tried once when I was in high school but I wasn't successful) . I'd like to learn how to play piano and violin because piano and violin sound is relaxing. I like to spend time with my family and friends and talk, talk and talk... with them. Profile
